FEATURED STORY 🔥

OpenAI Set to Unveil GPT-5

OpenAI is gearing up to launch GPT-5. Business Insider reports that select business users are already testing the tool, with one CEO highlighting its significant improvements.

GPT-5 aims to enhance the functionalities of its predecessors and introduce new features, including the ability to carry out tasks independently. While there's no confirmed release date, safety evaluations are anticipated before its public rollout.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman criticized the existing GPT-4 for its shortcomings on the Lex Fridman Podcast, but teased the release of an "amazing new model" within the year, which may or may not be named GPT-5.

Altman also discussed the immense energy demands of future AI technologies, suggesting that nuclear fusion could be the solution, although it remains an unrealized potential in energy production.

AI Business Idea Of The Week 📷️

I recently came across James Potter on X. He’s building a few cool things, but the one that caught my attention - Meals Chat.

It started life as a simple Telegram Bot that uses the GPT4 API to analyze images of food and provide a breakdown of the calories, macros, and ingredients. He’s recently launched on the App Store with a few more features:

  1. Set personalized goals.

  2. Check daily, weekly, or monthly stats.

  3. Write what you ate instead of taking a photograph.

  4. Track your caffeine consumption.

He launched just 50 days ago and is already getting some traction hitting $423 MMR.

I think James is on to something here. I’ve personally used MyFitnessPal and it’s a pain to scan each item, measure the weights, etc. It’s a long shot, but with enough traction, he could eventually be acquired by someone like MyFitnessPal.

This got me thinking - what other business could you build around the same technology? In the health space, could someone take a photo of a rash or mark and get a response rather than Googling it? In the DIY space could someone take a photo of a project and get suggestions on how to fix it?
