OpenAI's GPT Store Unveils Custom Chatbots Marketplace

OpenAI has introduced the GPT Store, a groundbreaking platform for buying and selling specialized chatbot agents. This marketplace leverages OpenAI's popular language models, expanding the horizons for users of its paid ChatGPT Plus service. The GPT Store enables users to create and monetize an array of tools, each with unique personalities or themes. These customizable chatbots can serve diverse functions, from negotiating salaries to crafting lesson plans and developing recipes.

More than 3 million custom versions of ChatGPT have been crafted, demonstrating the platform's vast potential. OpenAI plans to feature noteworthy GPT tools weekly, fostering innovation in AI. The store's model is akin to Apple's App Store, signaling a new era in AI development accessible to a broader audience.

The GPT Store's launch, initially scheduled for November, was postponed due to internal changes at OpenAI, including a brief removal and reinstatement of CEO Sam Altman. The store, available to subscribers of ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise, also introduces a Team subscription tier, enhancing collaboration and customization for teams.

In addition to chatbots, OpenAI has made strides with Dall-E, an image generation software, though it remains unclear if the store will extend to custom image bots.
